SuperFund: How the entity is created in HandiLedger, if one already exists with the same reference number

How the entity is created in HandiLedger, if one already exists with the same reference number

Your existing data in HandiLedger, will be moved to a new entity so that it can be accessed for historical purposes.

The SuperFund entity needs a chart of account in HandiLedger that is very different to the one we used previously for superfund's in HandiLedger, therefore it needs to be set up with its own chart that is specially for SMSF and it needs a HandiLedger entity to link to with no data existing.

So that the entity you are working in, in HandiLedger connects to all the other programs, HandiLedger will allow you to duplicate the existing data to a new entity number so that the clients historical data is still assessable in HandiLedger under a new number, and it will then use the existing Reference number to run the Superfund data so that it still links to all the other programs.

When adding the new Super Fund. In the "Add a new Fund" window, select an existing Reference number.

When you click Save, you will be warned that the reference number already exists.

Click Yes, to change the reference number of the existing entity.

In the "Rename Entity" window allocate a new reference for your "Old" Entity Data, the program can only check HandiLedger so please ensure that the default number does not exist in your other programs or else use a number that you know does not exist.

In this case ALLS0002 will have the new SMSF details and link to existing programs, and the historical HandiLedger data will sit under reference ZALLS009.
