There is no intention of phasing out our ODB or original database version. But the option of using a standard Microsoft "open" database has benefits, especially for larger practices.
HandiSoft SQL is built on Microsoft SQL Server, which is the industry standard for relational database technology. Because it is built on SQL, the software is scalable, secure, easily integrated with other applications and highly robust.
Open Database
The SQL database option makes it easy to share data with third party programs like financial planning systems. You could also use commercially available software like Crystal Reports to produce custom practice management reports or digital dashboards for example.
Scalability and Reliability
Microsoft SQL 7 is extensively used and extremely reliable. It can run on multiple servers allowing you to split data and service multiple office locations. Many of our clients running the SQL version of HandiSoft claim that larger reports run more quickly.
