Drop and Drag emails in Document Manager

The following article shows you how to set up your desktop to allow you to easily drop and drag emails from your Outlook "Inbox Reading Pane" into Document Manager.

Procedure to drag and drop emails into Document Manager

1. Open My Documents and make sure you have a "HandiSoft" folder.

2. Create a shortcut to the "HandiSoft" folder and make a note of where it is saved (may be on the desktop).

 

3. Drag the shortcut to "HandiSoft" onto the Taskbar next to the "Show Desktop" icon.

Note: Check that the Taskbar is unlocked by right-clicking on the Taskbar at the bottom of the Windows screen and making sure that Lock the Taskbar is unticked and also that under Properties, the Show Quick launch is ticked.

4. Right-click and select Rename, and change the name of the icon to "Drag to PM" or something similar.

Note: If you want, you can change the actual icon to a more relevant picture. Right click on the icon, and click Properties. Under the "Shortcut" tab, click Change Icon to change the icon.

5. Open Microsoft Outlook and drag and drop the email from the "Inbox Reading Pane" onto the "Drag to PM" icon.

6. Now open Practice Manager - Document Manager and allocate the email to the correct client.
