Customising data entry behaviour options

HandiAsset has a number of options that allow you to customise the data entry behaviour of the program.

Data entry options

1. From the Options menu, click Data Entry.

2. In the "Data Entry" window you can customise the data entry behaviour.

1) Enter Key Behaviour

Select the Use keypad Enter key as Tab key check box for the Enter key to behave as a Tab so that you can move easily from field to field while performing data entry from the keypad.

2) Capitalise Text

Select the way you want text to be automatically capitalised.

a) No automatic capitalisation - no changes are made to any text entered
b) Capitalise first character only - the first letter of the text will be capitalised
c) Capitalise all characters - all characters in the entered text are automatically capitalised

3) Asset Behaviour

Select the Goto Asset window after Selecting Entity check box so that when you select an entity from the "Entity" window, you will be taken directly to the "Asset Classification" window

Select the Want Quantity and Unit Price for the Quantity and Unit Price to appear on the ?Asset? window

4) Auto Journal Entries

Select the events for which journal entries are to be automatically posted in HandiLedger. These can be:

a) Asset depreciation
b) Addition of assets
c) Disposal of assets

5) Setup Wizard

Select the Run Setup Wizard for All New Entities check box for the New Entity Wizard to be displayed after selecting an Entity for the first time.

6) Load Defaults

When creating a new entity, the defaults set up under Options / Default Setups will be loaded into the selected tables for:

a) Classification Groups, and Depreciation Schedules
b) Ledger Posting Accounts
c) Depreciation Methods

7) Default button

Click Default to cause the options to be returned to their factory settings.
